![]() Shannon started taking piano lessons at age 8 at the Wausau Conservatory of Music. She received a bachelor of Music Performance, with a minor in piano pedagogy in 2001 from Judson University in Elgin, IL and began studio teaching prior to graduation. Shannon moved home to Wausau in 2001 and has taught piano lessons for ages 4 to 80. In 2003 she became a Nationally Certified Piano teacher, bringing her skills in line with professional piano teachers nationwide. Shannon is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and the local affiliate Wausau Area Music Teachers Association. Shannon enjoys teaching and being creative with music and helping others do the same. Shannon has 2 boys who enjoy listening to the piano and experimenting with different musical instruments.
Shannon's Piano Studio is hosted at her home in the Stettin area of Wausau. Students receive a private, one-on-one lesson that is tailored to their skill and desires. Lessons are typically 30 minutes long and cost $22.00 per lesson. In addition to private lessons, Shannon's Piano Studio also offers group lessons and group recitals, where students will be able to hear what other students have been working on. Shannon incorporates games, puzzles, flash cards, and hands-on learning techniques into her lessons. Shannon also uses many age-appropriate teaching aids and techniques to give the students the best opportunity to latch on to a lifetime of love for the piano. |
